Debbie Harry in The Foreigner 1977

Debbie Harry has starred in a lot of films. The Foreigner is one of her early acting jobs. I have never watched the entire film, but it gave me the impression it's quite an obscure, arty film. However Harry only appears in one scene, which you can watch online. She plays a mysterious beautiful girl, not unlike herself, and her individual dress style made her even more attractive. She pulls off a two-tone rockabilly jacket in the film, so cool.

Picnic at Hanging Rock and Hamilton Photography

I watched Picnic at Hanging Rock the other day. I realised that I had neglected such a good film for a long time. The story is about four schoolgirls who go missing at Hanging Rock, Victoria, in mysterious circumstances. Only one girl is found a week later, no trace of the others is ever found, and their disappearance exposes the mystery and supernatural quality surrounding Hanging Rock.
The atmospheric, dreamy cinematography reminded me very much of David Hamilton's photographs in the 1970's. Both Picnic at Hanging Rock and Hamilton's photographs pictured a romantic view of life of girls. Sofia Coppola's The Virgin Suicides owes a lot to the look and atmosphere of Picnic at Hanging Rock, but in a modern setting.
