CARVEN
When I passed Didier Ludot at Palais Royal in Paris recently, I saw CARVEN was displayed in the window. I didn't know anything about CARVEN at the time but I liked the styling of mixing old couture archive dresses with the revamped new collection. It was beautifully displayed in an unusual way. Since then this original 50's haute couture house was stuck in my head.
A couple of months later, I was in a department store. A beautiful jacket caught my eyes. A cocoon shaped short jacket with a big pleat at the back. I love the heavy tweed material and it's elegant design. I bought it because I should, and now this CARVEN jacket is in my winter wardrobe......Yeah!

The trace of Nazi Germany
Berlin has a history. One of the most notorious dictator, Hitler had tried to create his own utopia there. Fortunately he had failed but there are still the traces of Nazism in the city of Berlin.
When I was walking around Berlin city, I bumped into an old building which used to be the Reich Ministry of Popular Enlightenment and Propaganda headed by Hitler's right hand man, Joseph Goebbels. The building is huge and has square windows in a line on the front which emphasis it's absolute symmetrical architecture. It's very Nazi German in style and I was overwhelmed by the aesthetic of it. I also love the beautiful pale grey concrete colour.
I was glad to find also this Air-Raid Bunker. The bunker was built in 1942, and designed by Karl Bonatz. It's again a huge concrete building with small windows. It looks ugly but at the same time beautiful. Now there is a personal penthouse on top of the roof, owned by Art collector, Christian Boros. I tried to peep through one of the small windows but it was blocked from inside......

Apartment House by Oscar Niemeyer
Interbau is the first thing of my to-do list in Berlin. Interbau was an architecture exhibition in 1957. These buildings were designed and built under the theme of ' the City of tomorrow ' by architects from all over the world. It is located at Hansaviertel, Tiergarten.
I managed to see some great buildings. It was a misty and cold day when I went, but once I found Niemeyer's apartment building I forgot the cold air and the resident's suspicious eyes on me I started to take photos....
